How to colour your hair 
Step 1: the perfect blonde base
 

Attitude GHOSTED hair-lightening kit has been designed to pre-lighten your hair prior to using Attitude semi-permanent hair colours. Please follow the instructions carefully. We recommend you do a strand test prior to application.

CAUTION 
Keep away from eyes. Do not use on skin, eyebrows, eyelashes, or body hair. Do not bleach if scalp has any cuts or abrasions or you have exhibited sensitivity to the Attitude GHOSTED hair-lightening kit previously. If the mixture or powder gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and contact a doctor. Store in a cool, dry place, and use in a well ventilated area. Do not inhale or ingest. Always wear protective gloves and apply to dry hair only. Do not apply heat to the hair during the process. Do not use if you are pregnant. Take off jewellery, as it can collect bleach dust, causing skin irritations. There must be a break of at least two weeks from the previous hair treatments before applying the treatment to the hair. If you are a beginner or unsure then please enlist the help of an assistant to aid the checking and application process. Dispose of any unused product. 
This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation, please always conduct a strand test at least 24 hours prior to application. Bleaching results depend upon the condition and colour of your natural hair, a strand test will also show you the end results.

STRAND TEST 
Ensure your hair is dry and tangle-free. 
Wear protective gloves. 
Mix ½ teaspoon of the Attitude bleach powder with enough Attitude peroxide activator (approx 1 ½ teaspoons) to make a creamy mixture. 
Pull a strand of hair from behind your ear to test on. 
Thoroughly apply mixture to hair sample, ensuring the test strand does not touch the rest of your hair. 
Check strand every 10 minutes wiping off small parts of the mixture over small intervals until you are happy with the colour – see ‘development time’ chart below for approximate timing. If your hair looks red or gold, reapply mixture. Once satisfied, note the time to use as a guide for the full application. 
Rinse and wash the test strand thoroughly, discarding any leftover mixture, and thoroughly rinsing and drying the mixing bowl prior to further application. 
If you are happy with the results, and your skin is not irritated, you are ready to go with the actual application! 

PREPARATION 
Wear protective gloves. 
Pointing the products away from the face, avoiding inhalation, empty the Attitude powder bleach sachet into a non-metallic bowl. 
Add the Attitude peroxide activator and stir until you have a smooth, creamy mixture.
Start the application process immediately, do not wait a long time. 

APPLICATION 
Ensure your hair is dry and tangle-free (never wash hair prior to bleaching, the oils on the scalp help protect the skin).
Protect the hairline and ears with Vaseline before lightening. 
Use the brush and/or gloved fingers to apply evenly to saturate the hair, working towards the roots and avoiding the scalp where possible. 

DEVELOPMENT TIME 
This is a guideline, check hair as soon as the minimum processing time has passed. The strand test gives an indication, but you must check regularly by using a damp paper towel to remove the mixture from a small strand. Check every 5 - 10 minutes to avoid over-processing which can lead to breakage.

Hair Colour development time 
Light, medium, dark blonde: 15-30 minutes 
Brown hair, dark brown: 30-45 minutes max 

RINSING 
Once desired shade is reached, use lukewarm water and shampoo, and rinse thoroughly, away from the eyes. Do not blow dry or use any heating tools and styling products for a few days after bleaching if possible. Your hair is now ready for Attitude hair dye, or for Pure white toner!
